11 Easy Fall Vignettes And How To Create Them

by Janet Clark at Home

My favorite fall decor comes straight from nature. Fall foliage from the trees, fruits, dried flowers, acorns, pine cones, and pumpkins, are the foundation of all my fall vignettes. After I have gathered all the things that nature has to offer, I fill in with faux flowers and some faux pumpkins. Cozy candlelight adds that warm glow that feels like fall. So here we go, 11 easy fall vignettes and how to create them.

Natural Fall Decor Vignettes

1.Fall Buffet With Ironstone

Branches, flowers, and fruit transformed this woods and white themed buffet into a cozy fall display. An ironstone pitcher is filled with flowers from the yard and placed on a platter filled with apples, pine cones, and a faux hydrangea bloom. The tureen of golden pears is accented by the cozy glow of the candles.

2. Pear Branch Vignette

pear branches and ironstone tureens

These fall vignettes are so easy because I just keep the cabinets and shelves pretty much the way they are, and then add touches of fall. I had my ironstone tureen collection on the top of this cabinet. The only change I made was to remove a lid, and stack two tureens. I then filled the tureen with pears. A branch from my pear tree with the fall decorative fruit was draped on an industrial belt rack and tucked on a platter, and then a few pine cones were added to the platters.

3. Hutch With Terracotta Planter Candle Holders

Hutch filled with ironstone and terracotta pot candle holders

More pears were added to this hutch top. I love the colors of terracotta for fall. Terracotta pots became candle holders and I placed them on an ironstone planter. Real leaves from the yard, pine cones and little velvet pumpkins complete the look. A few faux sunflowers were placed in the tea pot. I’m a little sad writing this, these perfect tree branches were from the trees in my front yard. They all got diseased and had to be removed.

4. Spiced Kitchen Vignette

When I think of fall, my first thoughts are of apple pie and cinnamon. That was the inspiration for this super easy kitchen vignette. A candle wrapped with cinnamon sticks and a bowl of apples definitely has me thinking of cooking and apple pie.

Using Dried Flowers For Fall Decor

Dried flowers always feel like fall to me. I wrote this post about drying flowers for fall and the wreath I made with them. Now is the time to collect flowers for drying if you want them for your fall decor. Actually, most of these 11 easy fall vignettes use dried flowers!

5. Fall Tray On Ottoman

I didn’t have a tray, so I used this framed art to create a vignette for the ottoman. One large dried hydrangea bloom in a stone urn, a bowl of pears, and a candle were placed on top.

6. Fall Entry Table Vignette

I added more dried flowers from my yard on the entry table. Dusty pink and burgundy are my go to colors for fall. I tend to stay away from the bright oranges and yellows typically used in fall decor. Apparently I choose these colors for my clothing, too!

7. Fall Mantel Decor

A simple twig fall garland

I made this easy fall garland with faux floral picks. My hydrangea bush has not had many blooms the last couple of years, so I didn’t have enough for the garland. The real natural twig vine helps this blend with the real dried flowers in the room. Candles were also added and a few small pumpkins were scattered about.

8. A Bountiful Fall Basket

It’s the little details that I love in this vignette like the lace in the gathering basket, and the bow tied on the handle. Once again there is a mix of real and faux.

9. Old Bucket Table Centerpiece

More beautiful fall branches fill this bucket on the old farm table in the kitchen. The sunflowers look so real mixed in with the real leaves. A bowl of pears, and of course some candlelight on an antique grain sack runner complete this centerpiece.

10. Antique Tool Box Centerpiece

This antique tool box makes a big statement on the dining room table. I filled it with dried hydrangeas and some faux fall branches that I made. There are pumpkins hiding under the sunflowers, and another bow from velvet ribbon. You can just catch a glimpse of the mantle in the background. There are fall branches in an ironstone pitcher, pears, and candles glowing.

Fall Decor With Grocery Store Flowers

11. A Pitcher Of Fall Flowers

This last vignette is really two in one. I styled this bouquet of flowers two different ways. When nature stops delivering the fall beauty, buy some from the store!

First, I styled them on the hutch. The colors matched my wreath so beautifully.

And then I styled them on the coffee table. A simple grouping in this DIY French market tray brought fall into the family room. These flowers actually inspired my selection of faux flowers for this years decor. I am just adding a little pink.

Thanks for joining me on this little look back on 11 easy fall vignettes from last year. I am excited to see this years fall decor! I never really know how it’s going to turn out until I do it.
