I love all the beautiful blooms on the trees in spring. I have cut and brought them in the house many times, only to have the blossoms fall off in a couple of days. Although nothing beats the real deal, these DIY spring flowering branches are the perfect stand in.
Real tree branches and faux flowers create a beautiful, realistic flowering branch.
How to Create DIY Spring Flowering Branches
Step 1
You will need to go outside and find the perfect curved branch. It doesn’t have to be curved, but if your heart is set on a curved one like mine was, I will share a little secret with you. Tie the branch in the shape you want using fishing line. Add a variety of smaller branches to fill your space.
If you look closely at the photo below, you can see the fishing line I used to “curve” the branch.
If you are going to bend the branch, it will have to be fresh off the tree. Once the branch is dried, it will just break.
Step 2
I chose a faux stem from At Home store. I love pink, but you could also use white flowers and add some green leaves. Just pull the flowers off the faux stem and you are ready to go.
Step 3
Hot glue the flowers to the branches. This is where a little nature study comes in handy. Add buds to the ends of the branches and graduate to the larger flowers. Let the branch guide you.
And that’s it! You can’t mess this up. It’s guaranteed to be beautiful and bring spring time to your home!
These quick and easy DIY spring flowering branches will welcome spring into your home with long lasting beauty and no mess!
