While I may be slow when it comes to decorating for fall, I can’t wait for the chance to decorate for spring and summer. I love to decorate my dining room for spring. First I added DIY flowering branches to the dining room mantel. Now I have added a garden inspired spring entry table and dress form to the other side of the room.
The Spring Entry Table
Nothing evokes the feeling of spring more than imaginings of spending time in the garden. The garden can be as simple as containers of flowers or landscaping beds around the home. We can all be gardeners, no matter where we live, or how much time we have to spend.
A vintage hook rack made from antique molding holds a watering can and straw hats for a quick trip to the front porch and flower beds. The small drawers of this chippy green cabinet are available to hold small scissors, string, and other little things one might need for freshly cut flowers.
Below the vintage wicker table I have added another watering can and a basket to bring in blooms from the gardens.
A Spring Inspired Dress Form
I wanted a natural look for the dress form, so I used a mix of real and faux materials.
The materials used for the skirt include floral trim and faux florals from Hobby Lobby, gathered twigs from the yard, and a couple of bunches of baby’s breath. I used a greenery garland, also from Hobby Lobby, to wrap around the skirt.
The floral trim I used for the skirt is basically chicken wire ribbon covered with moss. I made three circles, in graduating sizes, to form the skirt. I used a combination of a floral trim and floral wire to connect the circles.
The faux greenery garland was wrapped around the circles to form the base.
I pulled the small faux flowers off the stems and hot glued them on some of the greenery sprigs. Twigs and baby’s breath were tucked in with the greenery. A few large rose buds that I had in my stash, were scattered sparingly throughout.
Sweet vintage paper birds added the perfect accent for spring.
And what better place to hang a weathered vintage floral than on a dress form?! A bird in a bird’s nest and more roses add to the spring whimsy.
I hope you enjoyed this little tour, because I truly enjoyed creating and sharing it with you!
