It’s a new season and you know what that means, a new look for my French drying rack! In the spring, I usually hang bundles of dried flowers, but this year I decided to do something a little different. I still love the dried flowers, so instead of the bundles, I decided to make a garland.

How to Make a Dried Flower Garland

You may or may not remember this skirt I made for my dress form a couple of years ago. I thought it was so pretty, and knew that I would one day repurpose it as a garland. Originally, I imagined it on the fireplace mantel, but after I hung the Christmas garland on my French drying rack, I knew I wanted a spring/summer version.

You can read how I made the skirt in the post Spring Dining Room. Basically, I used this wired mesh ribbon from Hobby Lobby and attached a faux greenery garland, also from Hobby Lobby, with floral wire.

For the new garland, I added a second faux garland to the original one on the ribbon. This was just for extra fullness.

This mesh ribbon is perfect for weaving twigs or flower stems through.

At this point, I went ahead and attached the garland to the drying rack with more floral wire and started adding in dried roses and baby’s breath. But before I finished doing that, I had to decorate below the rack haha! You can click over to see how I built this French drying rack.

Just keep filling in the garland until it looks the way you want.

I know not everyone has a big basket of dried flowers, but I have been saving them for years. I buy grocery store flowers for photos or just to enjoy, and then I hang them to dry.

And that’s it! It was so easy to make this dried flower garland. I used things I already had so it was no cost as well!

I will also bringing out my dried flower hanging display that I made a few years ago and hang it on the plate rack that I built.
PIN IT FOR LATER!
